THE CHARACTERISTICS OF A MENTOR

For one to be an effective mentor, we need the following Xters among others - from the Bible
Availability (A state of readiness to do God's will regardless of the personal cost) (Isaiah 6:8,Ruth 1:161 Sam. 3:7-10)


Contentment (satisfaction with your lot in life) (Phil. 4:11-131 Tim. 6:6)


Correctability (Openness to rebuke) (Prov. 13:1,1815:3127:529:19:8-10)
Courage (The absence of fear in the face of adversity) (2 Tim. 1:71 Cor. 16:13)
Discernment (The God-given, word-produced ability to see clearly issues and motives where spiritual things are concerned.) (James 3:17Prov. 19:27)
Faith (The ability to walk with confidence where you cannot see) (Matthew 5:20Hebrews 11:1,6)
Freedom from bitterness (Having reached the place in life where you can joyfully accept the sovereignty of God) (Eph. 4:3Heb. 12:15Prov. 18:14)
Gentleness (The spirit that responds with consistent love on all occasions) (James 3:171 Thes. 2:7Gal. 5:232 Tim. 2:24)
Grateful spirit (A heart that remains appreciative regardless of the circumstances) (Eph. 5:20,Phil. 4:6)
Humility (The attitude that accepts last place as deserved) (James 4:101 Peter 5:5,6Prov. 15:3325:6,727:229:23)
